Cooking lesson

On Saturday Morning , i went to school to have an cooking lesson which is establish by Ms.Batell. Each group has 6 to 7 people and each group has a teacher.The teacher of our group is an ex-change student , she is a French. We learnt how to cook cookie.Each group should make the food to the whole class which they learn .Katherine and I were in the same group and we are in the same cooking group .We learnt together.

First , we needed some meterials , such as butter, flour, white sugar , brown sugar , egg ,and chocolate.Then , we started to mix them . We followed the teacher . We heated the butter , after that , we mixed the white sugar , brown sugar , 1 egg , and some flour.We took turns to mix them.After mixing them , we divided a piece of chocolate into a lot of pieces, and mix them into the other meterials.We make a lot of lumps of the mixed meterials.Then we put them into the oven for 15 to 20 minutes . Finally , the seductive cookies are in front of us . We ate them immediately because they are so delicious.

I really enjoyed the cooking time. I like cooking , but i have no time to cook at home , so today's experience made me feel really happy and excited. I want to learn how to cook some famous Chinese food, then i can cook them in the forign countries . I should learn more from my mom and my grandma. Cooking is really interesting for me .

Art Festival ------Snow White

At the Art Festival , our class had a show named Snow White , we performed the film version of Snow White. The play was written by Abby. It is really a funny play and we put a lot of effort into it . We practice a lot after finishing writing play . I played a role of big and tall man. We changed 7 short men into 7 big and tall men. It was really interesting.

It is my first time to have a performance in GCA. I was a little nervous when i played. Soda played a role of Snow White , she is the main character , and it is very funny for her to play a role of Snow White , she doesn't look like Snow White at all , and it is interesting to let her be Snow White. Abby played a role of evil Queen . She plays very well . I heard the laugh from the auditorium . My role is easy to play , we don't need to speak , we just need to perform , we have 7 tall and big men , we cried when Snow White "died",although the crying was very artificial , we got the effect of comedy.

This is a successful performance , even though we had some small problem during the perform , such as Kevin jumped on the stage at the wrong time , and a lot of audience were laughing , even us , actors, we were laughing, he is so funny. I think it is still a successful , and we got the applause. I like performing , i want to have more chance to perform in GCA.

Fashion Show

On 27th April , GCA hold a big performance:Fashion show. It is a good chance for students to show their technology in desighing clothes and showing the clothes.Everyone can have a chance to be model and walk as the real model . However , i am a little shy person , i chose to be designer .

I like designing , and my dream is to become a designer .Fashion show is a very good chance for me to design a clothes. Our group has I , Gerry , Lily and Katherine.We design a lot of clothes for our model MS.Leung to choose . Luckily , Ms.Leung chose my design finally. We went to BU BU BU to buy the cloths. The upper clothes is made of blue skil and the shorts are made of the white cotton.

The show begun , a lot of people came , and the light was ready , the music is really cool , i saw all the model ready to have the catwalk. I hold the camera all the time . Firstly , we saw a beautiful cool dance from B-BOX. They danced very cool and i like dancing ,too.Then , the comperes came out and begun the show.Alex and Grace are the comperes,too.Grace was beautiful and Alex was handsome that Fashion Evening.

The students were walking one by one , and showed their beautiful and colorful clothes.Some girls were very sexy . One of a boy was dressed up as a woman , and it was really funny .When the teachers came out and walked , all the audiences were excited and shouted . The teachers' clothes are different from each other . I saw our model Ms.Leung , she wore the clothes which were designed by me , and wore a pair of red shoes and a red handbag , she looked so pretty . I was really excited like i was really a designer and saw my design under the light , under all the people's eyes. The clothes of Ms.Chu are also beautiful , and Ms. Bartell, Ms.Hadly were beautiful that evening . Mr.Harris is the most handsome guy i thought that evening. He wore a clothes in the style of Old-Chinese Fashion , and he looked very wealthy and handsome.

I enjoy the show very much , after the show , i took photos with our model and some teachers , i had a happy evening , and i think it is a successful show .I also think the activity like this is very interesting , and can practice our imagination.

Exhibition---Nanjing Museum

On 14th February , Penny and i went to the Nanjign Museum .Nanjing Museum is one of biggest museum in Nanjing and it has so many exhibition,they are different kinds of art exhibition.The museum is at Zhong Shan Men .We went there by the bus . The weather is sunny day , and at about 2 p.m ,is very hot ,we arrived at that time ,too.

The museum is very big .There was so many kinds of exhibition .There has the exhibition of pottery and porcelain , the exhibition of the embroider,and also has the exhibition of Wu Weishan.






I like the exhibition very much . There are a lot of ancient things, such as what people used to drink , to sleep ,and there are a lot of things what the padshah used before .There was a carving Jade picture and it is about how ancient people made the jade.The picture shows us a whole process of making it ,and i like the picture because it makes me understand that make a jade is not simple , it has a lot of process, and the picture of the process is like the real one .



We also saw another kinds of exhibitions and a lot exhibits.



This is the Craved Throne in Qing Dynasty ,A.D.1644-1911.It is very luxurious and beautiful , the carving is very exquisite and careful.

This is the Bianzhong of Zhangsun ,a chime of 9 bells ,spring and autumn Period ,770-460 B.C Unearthed in Chenqiao ,Liu he ,Jiang su .This is very famous in the chinese and physic.

This is the Famille Rose Globular Vase With Peach Design in Guangxu Reign ,A.D.1875-1908 Qing Dynasty. I think the vase is very beautiful and such a big vase .

Anyway , i had a good time here with my friend Penny , and we enjoyed visiting exhibition very much .This is a very good time for me to learn such a lot of ancient things about China and some mordern arts .

Italian Food

During the spring holiday , i went to the Italian restaurant with my best friend Penny . The name of the restaurant is Babela's kitchen .It is on the 3rd floor of Jin Lun shopping mall, and the mall is opposite to the Golden Eagle international shopping mall .We often go there to have lunch or dinner . On 6th February , i went here with Penny again ,and we enjoyed eating very much .

Babela has a very good envrionment .It is quiet and comfortable ,and some english songs , some jazz songs make me feel cool .There has a lot of famous Italian food such as pasta and pizza. We ordered noodles and pizza . We both thought the noodles and pizza here are quite delicious.I ordered this noodles and it has special taste.There is cream on the noodles and it has the bacon , mushroom .The taste of this noodles is not the same as the chinese noodles. Chinese noodles almost have a same taste ,like salty noodles .However this noodles tasted both sweet and salty ,so i thought it is quite a special food .

The price is very cheap i think .This noodles just cost me 13 yuan , and there alway has a lot discount .During the spring holiday , each pizza just cost us 19 yuan and the size of pizza is not small. We ate a lot and we were very full.

Even though a lot of things of this restaurant is very good , the service of the restaurant is not good. Every time ,i want to call the waiters and waitresses,they don't come until i called them for 2or 3 times . I don't why , i even shouted. Just when i want to check , and they come very quickly . That's really funny .

Anyway , this is still a good restaurant , not expensive , and can make us feel full , i advice my friends to go after i having meals there .

Community Involvement & Employability Skills

On this Christmas day ,i and Lawrence went to U.B.C coffee to help for free . When we finished the school that day , we took the taxi to go to the U.B.C coffee , and changed the school uniforms into the costumes quickly . He played a role of Santa Claus ,and i played the role of Christmas grandmother .Our job was sending gifts to customers and let them draw the Winner.

The customers were getting more and more ,and we are more and more busy .We walked around the U.B.C coffee with smile , and said "Marry Christmas " to everyone.We send each children Christmas toy for free and they were all very happy .We walked in front of every table and let them draw the winner after they finishing having dinner.The prizes were very good and i thought everyone wanted to be the winner .

We were busy and tired but we were so happy to see everyone was with a smile.Some customers wanted to have one more time to draw the winner ,and that was unfair to others ,but they still wanted and made us wonder . We didn't know what to do ,so we asked the manage , luckily ,at last we solved the problems. The mood of that day was very high ,even though every waiter and waitress ,including us were very tired and busy , nobody wanted to stop ,nobody wanted to have a rest . We liked this feeling of busy of happy . We worked for up to 5 hours there .

I am very happy to have this chance to be the volonteer on chirstmas day in U.B.C coffee . I learned a lot of things. During the work , it must have some problems , we should study that how to slove them and make bad things get better . I also learned the responsibility , it is important in our work . If i accept a work , i must have the responsibility , it is my duty to do best . Lawrance and i were work together favorably .At the end of that day , the U.B.C coffee sent the gifts to us and we were very happy .It is my first time to work like the real waitress , and it is my first time to face the society. I was successful .


I went to the Ping'an Animal hospital to do the volonteer work .When i walked into the hospital ,the smell of the Animal was very bad and even made me sick . I saw a lot of dogs and cats, they were ill and some of them cannot move .I asked the manage what i can do for them , he asked me to wash some of them and give food to them .

In fact , i was afraid of animals , i came to Ping'an Animal hospital to do the volonteer because i want to challenge myself and overcome that mind . I tried my best to help the animals , help the hospital . Firstly , i could not do very well and even didn't know what to do , but the worker here were very patient to teach me and tell me what to do . I understood quickly and could do well.

This chance , i studied a lot , i overcame the fear of the animals , and i help so many animal , feed them , washed them .Even though i hate the smell from animals , but i was also very happy to help them . This is quite a big challenge to myself that i can do so much for them , before ,i even could not touch them . I am glad to do this and i like animals more and more .
